This gate is very easy to set up and assemble/disassemble. It's a great quality gate that's also a good height. Sturdy and perfect for my need of a long gate to extend across my living room.
However, there is one major flaw. All three of my children, within a day, have figured out how to open the gate. They are 6, 3, and 2 years old. I was really hoping that, being Regalo, this would come with a similar gate door as the doorway/hallway gate we have from them that sort of clicks in, but this one is much different and simpler. The kids figured it out surprisingly quickly. I'm pretty disappointed by this mechanism. If your kids are pretty respectful of the boundaries set before them this shouldn't be too problematic. My kids are pretty good about staying inside the gated area. But I know not all kids are this way.
So, forewarning, KIDS CAN OPEN THIS GATE WITH EASE.
Also, I want to add that the latch mechanism seems a bit dangerous. Because my kids can open it, they can also pretty easily get their fingers caught in it. Luckily I've been able to avoid anything dangerous happening so far, but there was a day that two of my kids were fighting over locking the gate and one kid was holding the latch open while the other kid was sticking his fingers underneath the white folding piece and ended up getting his finger smashed for a split second, he gave me this panicked look and cried out in pain. He's fine, but needless to say, I definitely need to keep an eye on the kids around this gate while they're playing in order to avoid any accidents.
