Customer Review

I just got the decks. Everything looked perfect until I opened them. I've been buying Yu-Gi-Oh cards for about 15 years now and I've seen many types of fakes. When you first open a real pack you'll be able to notice that the cards slide, it's like if they had a little wax on the surface. This ones don't have that, they are rather opaque and a little rough. Also, the foils are just not right, I compared a couple of them with ones that I know for certain that are real cards. The colors are just not bright enough and it's bad quality. They aren't smooth on the edges either, it's like they were a little bit worn out (some of them). The biggest give away are two facts - The cards are not as sturdy as the original ones and the holographic square in the right lower corner it's not 3d as it's supposed to be.
One really interesting thing is that after 30 minutes of having opened them, they started releasing a terrible smell. Not kidding, I really thought it was my dog, but no, it was the cards. They are probably not great to manipulate bare handed. Now I think I'll just let them air out and when the smell is gone I'll put them into card protectors so I don't have direct contact with them and to make them hopefully look more real
I've heard that you can find this collection for up to $200 online (probably and hopefully the real one), and that some people were lucky enough to find it in a store for $35 and it was actually the real deal. I knew what I was getting into and I thought that $36 was worth the shot. I'm not going to spend that amount of money to buy the real ones, so it's nice that I have the chance to play with them now.
