2 Burnt J-Boxes, please keep an eye on these!
I really do like the design of these lights; however, I'm concerned about electrical safety. After about a month of good service, 2 of the 11 lights I installed in my kitchen ceiling stopped working, so I removed and inspected them. The lights worked fine but both J-boxes smelled burnt so I disassembled them. Each PCB was badly burned in the same spot. Amazon put me in contact with Torchstar in CA and they promptly sent replacement J-boxes which I installed.... Working fine. I asked Torchstar tech support to call me to discuss electrical safety but no response after a week. I will certainly keep a close eye on these and only power them up when I'm in the kitchen. If this happens again I will definitely report this to UL & CSA. I really do like these lights and hope this is just an anomaly.

Update 2/8/2020.... The replacement J-Boxes and all the original equipment have been working perfectly since the replacement so I'm about to purchase another set for my office, and then my garage. The defective boxes must have been an anomaly.
