Fire and meat enabled development of the human brain I recall learning in biology. All my relatives hunters, gatherers, farmers ate meat for thousands of generations. I consider it reckless and excessively dangerous to go entirely without meat since natural selection made us into omnivores that thrive on a complex varied diet. It would be useful to know what personal target for monthly meat consumption at dinner is acceptable and climate neutral: how many pounds of beef, poultry, venison, salmon, oysters..? I am troubled by the author’s partially stated implication that the root problem is the recent explosion of human animal now 8 billion strong.
