This review is primarily for the microphone. I purchased this specifically to record lectures with a headset microphone, to try to reduce or eliminate background noise. The boom (or arm for the microphone) is too short and cannot be adjusted to be positioned in the right place close to my mouth. The input levels for my Macs are too low, Even when I set the Input Volume to 100%, the input level at my normal speech is mostly at 40% or less. This is too low to record the lecture. If I manually hold the microphone in front of my mouth, I can get better input levels, but I don't want to have to hold the microphone at a fixed distance from my mouth throughout the talk.
Because of the low volume levels, I have not been able to clearly test and compare it to my other microphones for quality of sound, and quality of noise reduction.
I really wish there was a better way to find a good microphone for lectures and narration. I previously bought a Fifine Usb Podcast Condenser Microphone (K669), but that is too sensitive to background noises. I would be happy to pay considerably more to find a good microphone for this task, but can't clearly determine what works based on the information I have seen online. So I may need to buy additional ones to try to find one that works.
