I am always looking for rice based dishes because wheat gluten does a number on my body.

I tried this for the first time; and WOW! if I didn't know better I would have sworn that I was eating a combination of beef enchilada without the tortilla mixed with Spanish rice.

I also like the fact that it is super easy to prepare. It has cooking directions for stove top and microwave.

I like the fact that everything is in one bag so it would be easy to divide into two seperate portions so you could cook this in the bush on a jet boil, canister stove, or even an alcohol stove. Bring two cups water to a boil add mix and reduce heat or use a simmer alcohol stove and simmer until the rice and bit of vermicelli is soft.

Naturally if you divide the portions you would use 1/2 as much water.

If you added a bit of cheese and some kind of meat like chicken breast, single serving of spam, shrimp, can of vegetables, cut up beef jerky, etc; it would be easy to flesh this side dish into a full meal that tasted good too.
