Customer Review

I am pleased with this purchase. My Weber Genesis natural gas grill came with a 3/8" female connector at the end of the gas hose with quick-connect (which is a standard for Weber and as far as I understand fairly standard for other natural gas grills makes and models as well), but the gas pipe in the back of my house was, of course, a different diameter, which turned out to be 1/2". It is my understanding that steel gas pipes used in houses are at least 1/2". 3/8" requires an adapter. This adapter was the solution. I used gas-rated " Oatey 31265 Great Blue Pipe Joint Compound, 1 fl.Ounce  to seal the threads. Gas "sniffer" confirmed that there was no leaks. Installation took just a few minutes and was an easy DYI job with minimal skills requirement. The only tool that was needed was an adjustable wrench. At a standard gas pressure, that gas-rated joint compound could be used immediately after tightening the adapted, but I waited for several hours to be on the safe side. No complaints, an adapter is an adapter, it fits and functions as expected. I am glad this part is offered through Amazon.
