Update: So I’m not sure if it was some updates that Blink rolled out but the camera has been performing a lot better. The pictures are clear and it even catches little birds and squirrels. Notifications are still delayed and the talk live feature is still pointless. I was going to return it but changed my mind and I’m glad I held onto it. The batteries have already died within less than a month of use (25 second clips, 20 second retrigger time, sensitivity at 7, video quality set to “Best”)
Was excited to try this camera due to my trust in Amazon products but it left me very disappointed unfortunately. This is how my video captures look between the hours of 3-6PM under sunny skies.
I’ll start with the Pros +HD videos and a decent wide angle +Nighttime mode is very good for the price point +Many customizable features in the settings
-the Notifications are very late, there is no possible way to interact with someone at your front door unless you anticipate them coming and turn on live mode. This makes the talk feature obsolete -The front of my house gets the afternoon sun which between the hours of 3PM and 6PM renders the camera useless as my video looks like the mess I have attached. This I believe is due to the temperature of the unit.
Blink sends notification after motion clip has been recorded. Depending on the size of the clip and internet speed, the notification arrival time can vary.
Please reach out to me directly at email@example.com at your earliest convenience. I would like an opportunity to work with you to help troubleshoot and resolve any concerns you may have regarding notification and image quality.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Esther with Blink
