Exceptional book for little black boys. I bought it for my 4 year old and although it is too old for him, I am able to break down the gist of the book. I am learning about exceptional black men and so is he. This is so important as their accomplishment are often celebrated in limited way in this world. It's great to know these men that are in multiple areas of this world and know that we are more than just music and sports.
The illustrations are beautiful and I love that he can draw his own little legend towards the back. I also love that they had so many legends to put in that they couldn't dedicate a whole page to everybody and had to start squishing them in towards the end. It gives the feeling of wow, how many more didn't make the book?
The book itself is just so classy, well thought out and well made. My only request is to make an easy read version for those under 8 years / have reading issues, but over 3 years.
