First I will say that I did so much research into buying the next stage up from an infant seat that I know every single brand offered both in the USA and in several other countries as well. I do think that it isn't fair that my choices are being restricted due to dumb laws in the USA. There are way better Graco products available just not to me. I needed a seat that could fit into the access cab of a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. Now anybody that owns one knows how little the fold down seat is along with the air bags that go all the way around the cab. I also will be transferring the seat to and from my husbands 1993 Toyota Tacoma. His truck doesn't have any air bags anywhere and the back pull down seat is even smaller than what is on mine. So the seat would be in the front passenger seat of his truck. Regardless of what my truck's owner manual says or what Toyota's websites may say, there isn't a convertible car seat offered in the USA that fits on the rear access cab pull down seats. The bottom of the seats are way to long. This was the slimmest convertible car seat that I could find that I also felt would hold up if the all-around-cab air bag ever deployed. I do feel that my grandchild is safe in this seat. Now in saying that, I will also say it is heavy to pick up and I am not a frail old lady by no means, just a young Mee-Mee. My husband has the seat rear facing and has no complaints. He does not have untighten the metal adjusting buckle on the isofix latch either since his truck doesn't have lower anchors. I can spend five to ten minutes trying to loosen or tighten it. Other than that I think I bought a good safe car seat.
