There is something extremely charming about these stories. they are old fashioned in the best cozy feeling way. They are quirky and funny and very readable and not boring at all. I am really glad I read it, and I am 29. The illustrations are adorable. the whole book is a work of art and i agree, a children's book classic in that peculiar odd/funny/mysterious/charming way the best children's books have.
