The physical installation was incredibly easy. You plug it into the HDMI and into the power outlet. First pain point, was that the update kept failing. I have fast Internet at home. But the Roku was installed across from my room on the other side of the living room. It failed twice. I took it to my room and did the update. Then you have to register a Roku account and the unit to activate it. I took it into the other room then activated it. It went through the channel checking process and I logged into my streaming accounts. I made some changes to ensure I get optimal performance. Some other issues, the Wifi was slow since I can't get the faster bandwidth for it and you need direct line of sight for the remote. Also, the remote has the bare minimal in terms of buttons, so don't expect a full featured TV remote with numbers and such. But as a steaming device it's good, it does Netflix, Amazon Prime...... well. Some of the shortcomings, might be addressed by Premiere+ like the direct line of sight and faster Wifi, if you get the Roku Stick Premier+. I guess that's why they want you to upgrade to Ultra for the ethernet, remote headphone jack.....And my final issue is that this is capable of 4K and not having an ethernet port is disappointing.
