I hoped to gain more in-depth technical knowledge about the topics mentioned in this book to become a better software engineer. Unfortunately, a lot of topics covered in this book were explained in a generic way that wasn't quite beneficial (and the case studies were short). This book could potentially help organizations lead at scale, but it is more beneficial for leaders who are making large decisions at growing companies, not neccessarily for programmers.
I was initially excited to read this book to learn more about software engineering to apply to my work, but I didn't get too many useful takeaways that I didn't already know (or that isn't already widely known for software engineers already). The authors are quite accomplished, making this book appealing to buy at first, but that appeal wore off quickly.
