I have never written a review online, but I had to write this: in all my years of being a voracious reader, this book - and really, Humans of New York in general - has had the deepest impact on my world view. This book is an absolute work of art in every way that matters. I am relishing slowly reading these stories, even the ones I have read online, and the portraits add so much to the connection I feel with the storytellers. These stories make me cry, laugh, learn, think, and grow. I am giving a copy of the book to everyone in my life who I think wants to learn and grow and feel the full depth of emotions that comes with connecting with people - even if the connection is one way and from a long distance. I can't thank Brandon Stanton enough for changing so many lives with his storytelling, including mine.
