This memoir reminds me a bit of Cheryl Strayed's memoir, 'Wild'. Both cute blondes and good writers with parent issues. In this case, Danler's parents are messed up alcoholic and drug addicted. Somewhat insightful growth as she navigates her twenties coming to terms with her childhood.
One thing that's a bit off putting is she really loves to depict her life as sexy and glamorous... so hip and cool, lives in Brooklyn then Laurel Canyon in LA, travels to Italy and Greece, has a torrid love affair with a married man, takes all the drugs from ecstasy to xanax, drinks all the drinks, has another love affair with a man who has open relationships, eh...you get the drift. It gets old. Stop trying so hard.
