This book is like a intricate maze, a winding river leading everywhere and nowhere at once. It's a love story, A horror story and a cautionary tale of pride before falling, of how glorious knowledge isnt necessarily a friend to common sense. Faustus, the younger and the older, left me so unbelievably exasperated at times that I wanted to leap into the page and throttle him soundly and at other times feeling a deep admiration for the apparent madman. Truely a character full of complexity and contridictions. An excellent read and I am eagerly awaiting book 2
