I bought this book for my Kindle about one year ago, after deciding out of the blue to run a marathon. I simultaneously bought several other running guides, all of which made me shudder. This one made me laugh. Time and time again I laughed out loud and somehow I persevered and finished the damn marathon six months later. I can't say I carefully followed any of the author's thoughtfully included plans/tables/schedules (and I most certainly didn't follow any from the other books with any consistency), but whenever I found myself wondering "what in the world am I doing?" during the long training runs, I would remember Ms. Dais' accounts of her own miserable long runs, doubts, and second thoughts, and somehow I would find the stamina to carry on, if only in hopes of someday recounting my own woes with as much style and humor as this author did. Highly recommended to anyone (male or female) hoping to run a marathon, but most especially to those of us lacking logic and common sense. Sometimes laughter is the best motivator.
