This is not a criticize Amazon. It's to criticize everyone who sells these without telling you that you need another device -- a proprietary device from Phillips called a bridge -- to use these bulbs. That ties up another Ethernet port on your base router and another outlet for power.
I blame Google in particular because its breezy marketing uses words like "easy" and "seamless" when it's not because without the bridge it's impossible. And, chatting with Google techs on this is no better because they use weasel words to evade the issue.
