Customer Review

Let me start by saying that if you think from the title "The Martians (Mars Trilogy)" that you are buying a copy of Robinson's outstanding "Mars Red/Green/Blue" trilogy--you're not. What you have here is a collection of stories that fill in some details... backstories, you could call them. It's a mixed bag of second- and third-rate stuff, and not all of it's worth reading even if you're a fan of the trilogy.

And don't even think about buying this book if you *haven't* read the "Mars" trilogy, because these random stories will make absolutely no sense to you, and the experience will be very frustrating. Frankly, I found it rather trying even though I *have* read the trilogy.

Bottom line: this book is strictly for trufans of the "Mars" books. If that's not you, you can safely skip it without missing out on anything important.
