I have been sitting on the edge of my chair impatiently waiting for the sequel of book 1 wondering how long I would be tested on the patience thing and Jennifer put the thumbscrews on real tight but the long drawn out suffering was finally cut short with "Remanence" -OMG!!- thank heaven for the relief! She has an inimitable way of grabbing your attention and draw you into her story in such a way that it becomes impossible to let go or put down the book (in my case a Kindle) and even though at 2 in the morning the darned reader's battery shut down the contraption I countered by starting up the laptop so I could carry on reading anyway. If you don't know how to recognise QUALITY in sci-fi read "Fluency" first and follow up with "Remanence" to correct the issue once and for all. The trouble after that, dear reader, is that 80% (I would guess it is even more) of all other sci-fi books become bland and boring. It's a pity really, yet on the other hand, the really good ones allow you to see your imagination soar to unsuspected heights; a worthwhile experience indeed.
