I had my previous Dell 24" LCD monitor for 13 years. I've been through numerous PC builds during that time. So it was time to retire the beast. The last time I had ViewSonic's, is when I had dual CRT's. So it's been awhile. I am really pleased with this new monitor. I did not take long to adapt to the curved screen. I really like it for gaming. If you do a lot of spreadsheets, this is probably not the monitor for you. I have this hooked up to my laptop. I just keep the lid closed and use it as a desktop replacement. I also have my PS4 connected to it. The monitor has built in speakers, but those are nothing to write home about. So I have my desktop speakers connected to the headphone jack of the monitor. I knew I could get audio from my Playstation doing this, but I did not realize I could also get audio from my desktop. Nice! The joystick navigation is a little awkward and you have to push down and hold it to shut off the monitor. Not a deal killer, but something worth mentioning. I really like the automatic display input switching. If I shut off my PS4, the monitor automatically switches to my pc desktop. I can't speak to its reliability or longevity, but ViewSonics are typically great quality. It is money well spent.
Edit 01/02/2019 One thing I wanted to add. This monitor has some of the worst light bleed I have ever seen. I'm not sure if it's because of curve or not. There are a few things that I can do and see if I can reduce it. The picture says it all.
