Not up to previous standards. Maybe a little too much philosophy, maybe a little too much thinking, maybe Jack Reacher is just getting older and slowing down. Maybe the traveling with nothing more than a folding toothbrush in one's handkerchief pocket has become tiresome. The plot seemed a little thin, the supporting cast not as fleshed out. Even Mike Hammer and Travis McGee and Doc Ford aged but had "hobbies" to keep their day-to-day personalities interesting. And again maybe that lack of a day-to-day routine is what makes Jack Reacher unique. I like Lee Child and I will continue to read his novels.
