I purchased this mason jar with handle lid on July 22, 2019 for $11.95. As of writing this review on September 24, 2019, it is $14.95. I am not sure what caused the 25% price increase. My original guess was that maybe it is made in China and since we are currently in a trade war with China, the company needed to increase the product price. However, it seems the lid is made in Taiwan, so I'm unsure of the reason.
I like the idea of adding a handle lid to a mason jar. I make cold brew coffee and kefir, and wanted airtight pitchers for storing them in the refrigerator. This has done the job well. I haven’t felt like the handle was going to snap from the weight of the contents inside. I like that the flip cap can be opened with one hand and doesn’t move when I’m pouring. I also like that it doesn’t drip/spill while being poured.
My complaint is with the actual lid/handle part. The plastic handles are quite sharp (photos attached). You can probably slice your hand if you moved it up or down too fast. I ended up filing the edges down slightly. But honestly, the manufacturer should have smoothed out those edges by heating it. Makes me question the company’s quality control department.

Likes:
- sturdy handle
- flip cap stays in place while pouring
- doesn’t drip much while pouring
- dishwasher safe
- airtight

Dislikes:
- price increased 25% within 2 months
- sharp handle edges

Summary: Although I like the idea of a mason jar lid with a handle, I wish the manufacturer paid more attention to the details. A handle with sharp edges is what I’d expect from a cheaply made product, not one that costs 2 figures.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works great as a pitcher, just be careful of the sharp edges!
