Let's face it, I am hooked on the Hangman's Daughter series. I can actually see myself in the setting because Mr. Potzsch paints a vivid background in all of his stories. He does not sugarcoat anything and based on historical references to the lives of people during this period it was one of filth, disease, superstition and the ruling class and the clergy that will do anything to stay in power. I cannot imagine wearing the same clothing for days on end and what your personal hygiene must be like in those days. This book had a bit of a twist for the ending and proved that justice should be equal for all. Even though we know that is not true. I hope he continues to write these books and if he does I will continue to buy them.
