Reading the premise of this book, I thought it was going to be an empowering story for little girls with adventure and a thought-provoking storyline. I'm glad I had it sent to my house before shipping it to my niece for her birthday. The story was dull and nonchalant about the main female character and had no exciting parts to it whatsoever. I found it lackluster and boring. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't even have a happy ending. It was like a joke about how men view feminism (written by a man, btw). The protagonist did nothing special and it was an odd story. Don't buy this for little girls thinking it's going to make them feel like strong, capable people - like most male characters are portrayed. It will just leave them and you confused.
