I loved book one and could hardly wait for this one and oh boy, I was not disappointed. My heart hurt for Maia, but at the same time it was great to see that no matter what, the romantic pull was still there. So much tension! (In a great way). From brutal torture to deep feelings of betrayal and abandonment- Maia had to work through it all while shouldering huge responsibility. The story was very intense, love connection frayed but strong, battles were gory and violent, the betrayals hurt like hell - I loved every minute of it.
