This projector is a great value and offers a lot of “bang for your buck”. Super bright, I used this outdoors at noon in full sunlight and the video was watchable; mind you it wasn’t the best picture but you could see the full scenes of the movie and understand what was happening. I purchased this after being frustrated with the LG PH550. The LG is a nice little projector if portability is your top priority, but it’s only 550 lumens, so it can only get so bright—it was unwatchable until sunset started which just didn’t work for what I planned on using it for.
Overall there are only a few things I wish this Optoma had: 1) Bluetooth audio connection 2) Built-in screen-sharing/miracasting. Those two features would have made this a solid 5, but I I still would recommend this projector for people who want a bright projector but don’t care as much about portability—on that note, this does have a speaker built-in to it and it works OK so it is “portable” in that sense, but it is not battery powered
