After recovering from debilitating cancer, having most of her family in jail and learning that there hadn't been enough bees to produce a blueberry crop, Kate is at her lowest point. What else could go wrong. The only bright spot is her relationship with her sister. Then along comes Drake. A man who is single and has just become guardian to his brother's children after the death of his brother and sister-in-law. He needs someone to look after his nieces and a place for them to live for the summer. Kate is wonderful with children, needs an income and has a cottage to rent. There are a number of murders, stalkers, mysteries that Drake, the local police and Kate need to uncover and solve. A few to many coincidences and obvious questions, but this was an interesting, fun read and the characters, locations and sense of place rang true for me.
