I was very excited when I got this laminator. I was contemplating the idea of having one at home because I am a teacher and my life revolves around laminating a considerable amount of papers every week. I decided to get this one since it is Scotch brand and they have been around for years. I had no doubt that I was going to be a happy camper with this product at home. Well, that was not the outcome. As soon as I plugged in the laminator and powered it, a strong "burned" smell started to take over my living room. All of the thermal laminators will smell a little like that but not like this one. I though that it was going to catch fire at any time. Well, I decided to "ignore" the smell, and proceeded to laminated my first paper. This laminator feeds from the top part. When I inserted the pouch, it got completely stuck and I had to pull it out. When I got the pouch out it was melting and all crinkled. I tried 3 times. I was extremely careful when inserting the pouch and it kept getting stuck and messing up my papers. I think the problem is in the bottom left roller that rolls the laminated pouch out. I also think there is a bad "batch" of this product because there is people with perfectly laminated stuff in the reviews. That's why I bought it. It is a hit or miss. I would not recommend it.
