I bought this controller as a replacement for my original Sega Saturn because I was never a fan of the first style of controller. I love the colored face buttons, the see-through design, and the overall feel of this controller. However after less than 25 hours worth of use when playing suddenly the down direction on the d pad stopped working all together. I opened up the controller to find that the plastic on the bottom side of the d pad was very thin and had completely broken on the down direction and the up direction had a crack in it, leading me to believe that it would soon break as well. This happened three days after the 60 day warranty had expired but I decided to go ahead and try to reach out to Retro-Bit. I composed a friendly message detailing my situation and just asked that if anything that they could at least respond to me. It has now been a week since messaging them and I haven't heard a word. So I'm guessing that they saw that it was past the 60 warranty and immediately threw it out.
So yeah, I loved this controller until I realized that the d pad was made of obviously cheap plastic and Retro-Bit's lack of response was a bit disappointing. It seems that I am pretty much the only one who has had this problem in stark contrast to the glowing reviews. Regardless I can't recommend this controller.
