I bought this drive new from Amazon in October - in December I opened the factory sealed box to install in a computer. The computer would not recognize the drive - I put in my personal computer and Windows Drive Management would not recognize the drive. I used several types of external connections and even cabled directly into my computer - still not good. I grabbed a WD mechanical drive and it installed with no issues. In order to send back to Samsung for warranty they require a ton of information, your troubleshooting info, how you connected it, a picture of the drive's label, a copy of the invoice, and for me to pay shipping BOTH WAYS. I have to furnish a return pre-paid label to them. Unacceptable!! I will by Crucial and SanDisk from now on.
