I’ve been familiar with Skyworth for some time now. I saw them in Germany and India several times while traveling. This model is inexpensive and looks quite good with the small bezel and modern look. The quad processors do an adequate job with the smart apps and everything worked as expected. There is an optical output but no variable analog, which means running amplified speakers with the tv remote for volume isnt an option. I used the optical output to feed my speakers and just use the separate remote for those. No biggie, really. The internal speakers are a little better than many TVs of this size. It’s slightly thicker in the center than some so check dimensions if you have a particular application in mind. That extra thickness as compared to my other 32” tv in my office is minor but the better speakers are worth it if you don’t plan to use external audio.
The picture is good, but the pre-canned scenes for movie, games etc are not fantastic but to be blunt- they rarely are on any tv. The picture is vivid and the color is decently represented with some tweaking. As with any tv of this level, the screen is not completely consistent. The corners are a little darker than the center, but for casual daily use- that’s to be expected unless it’s a high end expensive unit. The remote is very nice- it looks good and is laid out very well.
Conclusion: it’s a lot of tv for very little money. It has Amazon prime video, Netflix, various google features and the casting works fine. While unknown in the US, this company has been around a long time. I think you likely couldn’t do any better in this price range. I’m tempted to rate it a 5 because I don’t know of any other one that offers the specs this one has for so cheap. It’s easy to set up but takes a fair amount of tweaking to tame the vivid picture but once done it’s quite acceptable.
