I built a turntable and used a tonearm that had a continuous wire that ended in balanced connections. XLR inputs was a must for me. I bought this phono as a stop gap until I could build one. Well, those plans went right to the back burner as soon as I used it. I was very surprised and happy with the SQ. I added a swagman labs PSU and now I'm good for long while. I won't drop names and toss other manufacturers under the bus, but this unit outperformed a loaner I had in the house that cost 2X as much. Deserves to be on the short list at 1k. A definite buy if you can find it for less. Found mine for 600 mint condition.
