I also am one who has read all of the Mitch Rapp series up to and including Enemy of the State. As you can see, I've rated it at 3 stars. Kyle Mills is an excellent author in his own right. As I have been reading the most recent books of the series after the death of Mr. Flynn, I have started to have a feeling that the difference is that Mr. Flynn actually seemed to be able to put himself in the shoes of Mitch Rapp as he was creating the stories. The friends were Flynn's friends, enemies, Flynn's enemies. What was happening to Mitch was vicariously happening to Flynn and that's the magic. Mr. Flynn was able to place his loyal readers into a personal relationship with Mitch Rapp similar to the relationship with Mitch Rapp that Mr. Flynn had. Mr. Mills most likely identifies with Mitch Rapp only as a subjective 3rd party character. He can't be faulted for this difference. It just happens. And yes, I will continue to read these as long as Mr. Mills continues to write them.
