The first thing: it won't open right up on the app page, "OH NO" you have to see Amazon ads first, and get them off by swiping the little camera, this becomes more annoying when the screen goes black every few seconds, causing me to go through the whole process again. I have tried to lengthen the battery saver time without success. Second, trying to access and load apps that are not in the Amazon appstore is a nightmare. Loading the app for my Blink security camera was a breeze and it works better than it did with my old Ipad but I have 2 pet cameras I got at Walmart, that the app is not in Amazon's appstore, and I can not get the Google appstore to load on to this tablet, I guess old Jeff considers Google a competitor, but by jumping through a bunch of hoops I was able to find the app but I can't get it to load onto my Fire. This is just one example of their forcing out the competition. I was unhappy with my Ipad for their monopolizing tricks, but Amazon is just as monopolizing. I guess I got what I paid for though. But, when my old Ipad quit charging and I knew it would cost as much as a new tablet to replace the battery, I started shopping for a new tablet, and I sure did not want another Apple. This Fire was the best deal, I could get it with my Prime, they were willing to give me a trade on my old Ipad and the Fire had all the features I wanted, and I am on a fixed income, with social security, so I shop price. But, now I wonder if I got the bargain I was hoping for.
