On rare occasions in my over-consumption-of-goods journey, I find something extremely compelling. That would be this fantastic little light. It’s so lightweight I don’t know it’s in my pocket. The floodie beam pattern is super bright and very useful. Though AAA sized do note it uses a different style battery altogether . . a 3.7V rechargeable lithium. This is a great emergency and/or EDC/ projects-around the house general utility light. Could even be used tactically, if necessary, given the tailcap switch. If high is your desired most-used mode, get the coyote color. Don’t be dissuaded by the ill-informed reviews that ding this light because ‘it’s not bright, or it’s too hard to get to high’. . they simply bought the wrong color of light and were not informed. The other non-coyote colors start out on low. My minor criticisms: admittedly the secondary mode IS hard to engage. You have to master the right timing of partial press to engage secondary model. Charge time can be a little slow (4+ hours), and the always-on full click of the switch requires a lot of pressure, so weak fingers may struggle a little.
January 2020 Update: Still loving this light and have given lots of them to family and friends as gifts. They are always very well received. The only criticism I have is that the light drops into much lower output rather quickly. Maybe only about 5-10% of the fully charged battery will you see the brightest output. I wish the regulation was more even. But hey, it’s a $30 light that does a LOT for the money.
