The artwork in this book is wonderful, it reminds me a bit of golden age illustrators like Kay Neilsen. The storytelling was a letdown though, I didn't think it was up to par with what you'd expect from Neil Gaiman. Of course, as a writer he has developed a lot since the story was first published in 1994. The erotic elements of the story seemed very flat and crude to me. I don't object to the erotica itself, just that it wasn't well written. I will keep the book just because I really like the illustrations, but if I had my time and money back, I'd pass on this one.
