I bought these for my 15 month old great-grandson to use when he, his parents, and I spent the week at 2018 Daytona Beach Bike Week. We stayed on the beach with crashing high tide waves, went to Main Street and the Daytona Speedway with MOTORCYCLES! and many LOUD bands, and people yelling and laughing everywhere! When set on SOOTHE, he could hear only a low drone and would fall right to sleep. When set to noise cancellation, the LOUD noises were very muted, but he could hear us speaking to him or each other if he chose to pay attention. How do I know they work like this??? Before we ever left home, I tried them on him--he wanted nothing to do with them, so I put them on myself to test them. I danced around laughing and he HAD to have them! He LOVED them, unless they were not properly seated over his ear, in which case he would pull them off, we would put them on properly, and he'd leave them alone. He liked them so much he would walk around patting both earmuffs and grinning. I will buy a set for EVERY baby who will ever be exposed to LOUD noises like airplanes, motorcycles, car races, mud bogging, tractor pulls, concerts, parades (Mardis Gras for them). They are GREAT! They are also very good quality of materials and construction. The infant grow band will make them fit newborns (and they clearly will fit an adult with a hat size 7~~probably dependent on head shape) .He will probably be able to wear them for several years. They come with a nice travel/storage bag and the infant band is removable. Now, if they'd make them with Bluetooth for listening to my movies or music on the fly, I would own a pair myself!
