The thoroughness of the research done by the author is very helpful, so I do recommend reading this. However, beware that it's full of passive aggressive negativity towards her partner, her friends, her doctors, her mother, pretty much anyone she tells a story about. It's honestly exhausting and uncomfortable to read. But again, worth it for the thorough and myth-busting research.
Because I think it's really important to cultivate positivity in pregnancy and to have a deep appreciation for how beautiful it is, I recommend balancing this out with something like "The Healthy Pregnancy Book" by William & Martha Sears— they do a great job of communicating compassion and celebrating how pregnancy and birth can be a beautiful and bonding experience for everyone involved, unlike this book which leaves a sour taste.
