ATL was OK, nothing exciting. The movie kind of seemed like a cleaned up, AMC version of Friday with other cliche movie parts thrown in for effect. I got the feeling I was watching the mirror image of Sixteen Candles. Keith David, one of my favorite "small part" actors (Crash, They Live, There's Something About Mary, Armageddon, Platoon) shined in another small, supporting cast role, Lauren London (Whom I had never heard of before this movie) was convincing and shows alot of promise as an actress. The soundtrack was excellent, but needed more Ludacris. The movie at first will take WASP audiences off guard the same way a movie like "21 grams" does, but listen to the message of the movie, don't try analyzing the words.
Overall, three stars, wait until it hits the discount bin before buying it, it'll be just as good at $6 as it is at $15.
