Customer Review

Admit up front that I am a Reacher fan... even after the Hollywood disaster of casting Tom Cruise as title character. (Seriously, Tom Cruise as Reacher?) This book was such a huge disappointment. I know Reacher thinks and reasons in staccato bursts but so does every other character in this book. It becomes redundant...quickly. I had to slog my way through the first 60% of the book. Also way too many unanswered questions left at the end of the book. Spoiler Alert: Why did Reacher continue to wake up at 3am? I thought the author explained it after the second awakening but then he has him once again wake up for some unknown reason at 3 am. If the 6 men at the motel are willing to pay so much money for the hunting opportunity one would assume that they are somewhat talented at hunting! Pairing them off doesn't make any sense. All 6 of them were inept and worthless. Making their characters unbelievable. That entire plot line worthless. The second plot line of Reacher finding out family secrets was just boring. A six year old just coming and going? Very hard to believe. Birthday cards from mysterious parents? Oh, well, not important. Let's not develop that thought.
Don't waste your time or your money. Past Tense was so bad that I will think twice before I purchase another Reacher book.
