My kids are in spanish immersion elementary and I was looking for a workbook over the summer to maintain what they've learned. This book is not it. It's basically a vocabulary book and doesn't move beyond learning nouns. There are no verbs or sentence building. There are 73 pages in the book but the first 55 pages are vocabulary pages that show a picture and the word in Spanish then they ask the reader to write the word (I'm assuming in english but the instructions say to write the word in Spanish). It isn't until page 56 that they move beyond this structure to something a little more interesting - but even that only happens over a few pages then it's back to showing a picture and the correlating Spanish word. This book is fine if you want to teach a child Spanish who has no previous knowledge of the language, but beyond that it's not very effective. My kindergartner could get through this book in an hour.
