Another superlative collection curated by the incredible Samuel Peralta. I've been reading all "The Chronicles" and they are giving me a new appreciation for the short story format - plus introducing me to a slew of new writers I want to read in longer formats. I found the writing in this just as compelling as the other works. I personally found it disturbing, but then, the theme was meant to disturb, so clearly they achieved their goal! The mark of a truly great writer is the ability to put the reader exactly in the headspace they want them in, and I was there. I am left even more torn about how I feel about our ability to create life-like robots and what exactly is our relationship to an artificially created sentient species. I am grateful for the opportunity to read what others think on this topic. The book has definitely left me with many points to ponder. And in the end, isn't that what great writing is supposed to do, make you think deeper, long after the book is finished?
