There's a lot of good research info in here, but the book on the hole is hyperbolic. Author inserts stories into events he certainly doesn't have knowledge of (e.g. recounting specific hundred-year old conversations). The book boldly declares its historical heroes and villains. A book that is about water in the West spends a full chapter talking about explorers for some reason. I've also found a couple of factual errors that the book's age can't explain. There's some good information in here but it's difficult to separate out from the baloney.
