I got this book for my 2-year-old who loves reading and loves animals. I wanted an animal encyclopedia that was mostly pictures rather than words, and this one is perfect. Even though it is mostly pictures, it is still a book that the child can grow with and continue to learn from. Because each page shows different types of the same animal (e.g., different types of whales), it introduces complexity to the types of animals my child already knows about. Now he can look and see many different kinds of his favorite animal!
The photos of the animals are high-quality (I have high standard for this), and the pages of the book are thick enough that I'm not worried about my child ripping them while reading. I would definitely recommend this book, and I will be looking into more books from this series!
