Cons: I’m Still Standing is transposed down 1/2 step for “playability.” It doesn’t mention this on the rear cover or product description. You wouldn’t know until you opened to the first page of the piece where it’s noted at the bottom of the page. For me that’s a dealbreaker. Unless it is an “Easy” style book there’s no reason for the song to not be in the right key. I reached out to Hal Leonard via their website to ask for a transcription in the correct key and was denied. Instead they directed me to their “note-for-note” collection which doesn’t have many hits.
Pros: This is the best collection of Elton songs in a piano book I’ve found. It’s been surprisingly hard to find a book with all of the hits (some other “greatest hits” collections didn’t even have Tiny Dancer, how is that possible? That’s his 2nd or 3rd most famous song).
