I have a degree in accounting, not literature, so I don't critique books on plot, character development, or other literary qualities that someone trained in that area might offer. As a general rule, I find something enjoyable about the books I read. But those books may only earn a 3 or 4 star rating. A book earns 5 stars and becomes a keeper for me when it reaches me on an emotional level and draws me into living the story rather than watching the story as if a spectator looking through a window. The Grand Tour series is over the top in that regard! I tumbled with Cora, Will, Pierre and the others into their doubt, fear, anger, angst, confusion, and pain; then rose with them as they discovered hope, joy, peace, confidence, trust, and love. Both books were packed full of emotion, discovery and adventure with twists and turns that kept me reading into the wee hours. Can't wait to start the next one!
