I like Mechs. Some authors write about them in a completely gripping way; lots of tech,, lots of action, great story line, interesting characters. This series started out as promising, unfortunately, it soon became too predictable and without grit. The tech was, in my mind, very superficial and not suitably addressed. I liked the character 'Rug,' but everyone else... not so much. Probably the biggest drawback was it's length. This series just seemed to go on and on, and without the content to back up such length. Hey, if I like a book/series then there's no such thing as 'too long,' but not in this case. I actually found myself stubbornly thinking, "I WILL finish this!"
The ending just sort of flat lined in a rather generic "we'll-all-go-to-another galaxy-and see-what-happens-there.'
I'm pretty sure Mech-heads will find this lacking on many fronts.
