I have a solid tripod that I’ve had for video cameras and traditional cameras since the 1990s. I needed some way to put my iphone on it.

**Update
This little piece of plastic has been invaluable during the quarantine for Zoom and GoToMeeting classes and birthday gatherings and FaceTime calls to my kids and grandkids! I just wanted to mention that. Seems like I’ve had this thing forever now, and it has been completely worth it. I use it so much, I’m surprised it hasn’t broken, and now that I’ve said it, I probably should buy a backup...
Update**

This was exactly what I was looking for! Adjustable, rotates between vertical and horizontal without having to remove the phone and adjust the mount before reattaching. It appears to be made to last. I have not found anything to complain about!

So far, I have used it to record BJJ drills so I can critique myself, record workouts to play back again as a personalized follow-along, record my grandkids and I rolling around being crazy, and I use it to hold my phone while I follow-along with YouTube jump rope workouts. I can take it outside in the sun for follow-along jump rope instead of being tethered to a TV indoors or having to set down and pick up the phone constantly to see what is next. Together with my iPhone, it’s better than my GoPro for this kind of stuff. (It also clamps onto the GoPro without having to change the mounts, which might be a benefit too)

Making my own videos to follow-along was what I originally purchased it for. It is that and so much more, now.

It’s odd to say this, but it’s a life changing little addition to my home gym and workout regimen :-)

NOTE: I have no idea why Amazon wants me to rate this for Security features among the categories. But I’m giving it 5 stars for safely securing my phone to my old professional camera tripod. :-)
