This is a nice summer and fall dress. It's heavy enough to keep you from being cold indoors during the summer and outdoors during the fall, but breathes enough that you can wear it in the heat.
The fit isn't what I would like it to be. The dress is a little shorter than I imagined it would be; I'm only 5'5", but it was more a midi length than a maxi on me. I wish that it came in XL because I think the looser fit would go better with my style, but it's still very cute on and I always get lots of compliments.
The pockets will make a weird bulge on your thighs and probably won't be comfortable to have your hands in unless you have long arms. Mine are pretty short, so I don't really keep stuff in there.
